You can use your room’s YouTube player to stream YouTube videos.
Unlike screen sharing, the YouTube player runs virtually so it does not depend on the streamer’s upload bandwidth. Even when your connection is poor, your viewers will see a smooth, crisp YouTube video.
On Playback in your web browser, click “select stream” to open the stream menu and choose “YouTube.”
Playback will open a virtual browser where you can find and play any video on YouTube.
Once you find a video to play, wait for a green outline to show around the video to confirm that Playback is capturing it, then choose “stream to room” to play it for your viewers. Your viewers will not see your virtual browser or anything playing until you choose to start. If the green outline is not showing up, try refreshing the page inside the virtual browser.
Note: Copy and pasting with keyboard shortcuts doesn’t yet work in the virtual browser so use the “paste” button at the bottom if you need to paste text.
Once a YouTube video is streaming to the room, you can minimize the YouTube browser to view the stream in the room as everyone else sees it.
